Former Red Sox first baseman Kevin Millar joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Johnston & Flynn on Thursday to discuss his life as a former player, a future job in baseball, and the Red Sox organization over the past few years.
Millar retired in 2010 and has gone on to work for the MLB Network as a studio analyst. As teams get ready to start playing games in spring training, does Millar start to miss being a player? What do players do with all the down-time they get in spring training?
They went on to talk about the future, and whether or not Millar would take a management position with a team. Would he be willing to put in time at the minor level to gain experience?
Millar was then asked about the Red Sox over the past few seasons — from letting go of Terry Francona to the Bobby Valentine year. Is John Farrell what this team needs to start moving in the right direction?
