'Large Number' Of Students Reported Sick At Pentucket Regional High School

WEST NEWBURY (CBS) - All after school activities were canceled Thursday afternoon after school officials say 20-percent of students became ill with a stomach bug.

The principal of Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury sent out a health alert, saying a 'large number' of students were sick and the building will be disinfected.

"Our precautions and procedures are aligned with the recommendations from the health department and will ensure the health of our students and staff. If your child is symptomatic, please keep them home from school," the school said in the email.

The school will be open on Friday.
