Police officer on motorcycle involved in crash in Fall River
FALL RIVER (CBS) – A Fall River motorcycle police officer was involved in a crash Wednesday while escorting a funeral procession.
Fall River police say the officer’s motorcycle was hit by another vehicle on Route 24 northbound near Route 79.
According to State Police, several cars were involved in the crash.
The injured officer was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and appears to be in good condition, according to officials.
It’s not clear if anyone else was injured.
The left and right lanes of the highway were closed for a short time while police attempted to clear the scene.
The crash was expected to cause significant back-ups.
