ARLINGTON (CBS) – A group of Arlington High School students with concerns about the environment have succeeded in getting a ban on the sale of single-serve water bottles on the ballot.
Arlington Town Clerk says the students collected enough signatures and will present the idea to selectmen March 18.
If selectmen approve, the students will ask Town Meeting members to ban plastic bottles at their April meeting.
If approved, Arlington would join Concord in the ban.
In January, Concord became one of the first communities in the nation to ban single-serve plastic water bottles.
