BOSTON (CBS) – Three days after the blizzard, Boston Mayor Tom Menino told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Tuesday there will be a complete review of the city’s snow removal operation.
Crews are still struggling to clear the streets and sidewalks and the mayor had this message for residents.
“Be patient. We have to do a better job than we did. We’ll work harder on it and we are working very hard. The public works department and the recreation department are all really working real hard,” he said.
“We only got a 100 calls all last night compared to 1,200 the night before so the numbers are coming down.”
Menino blamed private contractors for the mess.
“(They) made commitments for a certain number of vehicles and didn’t show up with the type of vehicle we needed. They showed up with small, little pickup trucks.”
