BOSTON (CBS) – The US Senate race to fill John Kerry’s seat just got a new competitor.
Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone is thinking about joining the race, according to a report from the Boston Herald.
He told the paper that the race has changed since former Senator Scott Brown decided not to run.
“District Attorney Leone’s present intention remains to leave electoral politics and government service,” Leone’s spokesperson Beth Long told WBZ. “However, recently, he has been urged by people he thinks highly of to consider a run for the senate, which he will consider.”
