BARRE (CBS) – The Fire Marshal’s office confirmed that an elderly woman has been killed in a fire in Barre.

The blaze broke out inside a home on Trafalgar Square Thursday morning.

Several surrounding towns are helping fight the fire, which is still burning.

Dozens of firefighters have responded and are working to get the flames under control.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed their investigators are also responding.

There was no immediate word on any other injuries.
