SALEM (CBS) – A Stoneham man is facing OUI charges after police say showed up drunk at to pick up his two children from an elementary school and a Salem daycare.
Thomas W. Gallant, 46, is charged with OUI second offense.
According to the Salem News, Gallant appeared intoxicated when he showed up at Horace Mann Laboratory School to pick up his daughter around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
The principal refused to allow the child to go with Gallant.
A half-hour later, officers were looking for Gallant when he arrived at the Kiddie Koop Child Care Center to pick up his 3-year-old daughter.
Workers there refused to let the child go with Gallant. Police showed up as Gallant was leaving. He was arrested.
The two children were eventually picked up by their mother.
Gallant’s girlfriend retrieved the car he had been driving.
