LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — The Middlesex district attorney’s office is investigating after a 31-year-old woman was found dead in a holding cell at the Lowell Police Department.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney says foul play is not suspected in the death Sunday of 31-year-old Alyssa Brame.
Brame was arrested late Saturday night on prostitution charges. She was later transported to a city hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Lowell Police Superintendent Kenneth Lavallee confirmed the death, but had no additional information. An autopsy is scheduled.
Brame’s mother, Alice Swiridowsky-Muckle, tells The Sun of Lowell that her daughter recently moved to Lowell from Maine and had had a recent bout with pneumonia.
