Monday night’s national title game between Alabama and Notre Dame wasn’t even a game, with Alabama winning 42-14.
Filling time on the ESPN broadcast, play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger made some comments about the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron. During the first quarter, McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, was shown on TV, and Musburger made a few comments about the former Miss Alabama, saying she was a “lovely lady” and “beautiful”.
Not really much of anything, right? Just a comment about a beautiful girl being beautiful.
Well, for some reason people had an issue with it and the network apologized for Musburger’s comments on Tuesday.
This set Fred Toucher off on one of his epic rants. Why would the network have to apologize Musburger’s comments? Why wouldn’t the network back their talent in a situation like this where there was nothing wrong with what was said?
Enjoy another classic rant from Fred!
