Sketch Of Wareham Police Impersonator Released

WAREHAM (CBS) – Police have released a sketch of the man who pretended to be a police officer and attacked a woman in Wareham.

Police say the man is approximately 40-years-old, 5'8" tall and weighs about 200 pounds. The victim said the man has dark hair and a pronounced Adam's apple.

He was wearing a fluorescent yellow jacket with a dark colored button up shirt underneath.

On Saturday night, a woman says she was signaled to pull over on a dark road by a man who was driving an SUV or small truck with a flashing blue light in the windshield.

The man told the victim she had a taillight out and asked for her license. She became suspicious when he smelled like alcohol and tried to drive off. The man then struck her in the face with a flashlight.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wareham Police at 508-291-2300.
