FOXBORO (CBS) – This year’s New England Patriots Fan Of The Year is Attleboro Falls resident Kevin Kelley.
Kelley will be presented with the Joseph R. Mastrangelo Memorial Trophy at Sunday’s game.
Kelley, 40, was chosen from 300 nominees. He serves as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force’s 212th Installation and Engineering Squadron and recently returned from a deployment in the Middle East.
According to the New England Patriots, Kelley, who was deployed just a week after his daughter was born, consistently showed his Patriots pride despite being a world away.
He watched games over the internet and stayed up-to-date with whatever sports pages he could find.
He even put up a Christmas tree donned entirely with Patriots ornaments.
As his wife stated in the nomination process :
“He truly loves the team – they mean a lot to him, as watching them has gotten him through many tough times as well as the good times.”
