Hampton, NH Tree Worker Killed After 15 Foot Fall Out Of Haverhill Tree

HAVERHILL (CBS) — Officials are investigating the death of a tree removal worker who fell from a tree in Haverhill and was crushed by a tree limb.

Essex County District Attorney's office spokesperson Carrie Kimball-Monahan said Merle R. Wilbur IV, 32, of Hampton, New Hampshire, an employee of a tree removal company, was killed Monday when he fell 15 feet to the ground and a large branch landed on him.

According to the Essex County District Attorney's office, Wilbur was performing commercial tree work at a private residence when the tree limb gave way.

He was taken to Lawrence General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
