How Much Should You Tip Around The Holidays?

BOSTON (CBS) - Not sure what to tip around the holidays?

Etiquette expert Judith Bowman says the general rule of thumb is to give an extra week's pay to any regular service providers such as hairdressers, house cleaners or day care providers.

Bowman said to remember mail carriers can only accept up to $20.

Other gifts such as cookies or homemade items are also a great idea for bus drivers or gas pumpers, Bowman said.

The one thing you should always do?

Deliver your gift with a personalized thank you note, Bowman said, to let them know how much you appreciate them.
