The driver of an SUV that hit a State Police cruiser is facing drunk driving charges.
DEDHAM (CBS) – A Needham woman is facing OUI charges after slamming her SUV into State Police cruiser and injuring the trooper who was driving.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Thursday night on Route 128 Northbound around Exit 16.
State Police say the trooper was following a crew that was taking down a road construction set-up, when the SUV driven by Lillian E. Vespa-Malkin, 46, slammed into the back of the cruiser.
The Trooper was transported to the Needham campus of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with neck and back injuries and has since been released.
Vespa-Malkin was arrested and charged with OUI, marked lanes violation, and operating to endanger.
