BOSTON (CBS) - The NHL has placed another lump of coal in everyone’s stockings, canceling more games on Thursday.
With league owners and the NHLPA still not talking, the league announced the cancellation of regular season games through January 14.
In total, 625 regular season games have now been cancelled — 50.8-percent of the season.
The owners and NHLPA have not negotiated since December 6 in New York, when talks broke down. They met with a U.S. federal mediator for two days in New Jersey last week, but reported no progress.
They are facing a mid-January deadline to get a deal done, or the entire 2012-13 season will likely be cancelled.
