BOSTON (CBS) – A state senator managed to track down a stolen iPhone after witnessing a thief take it right out of her hands on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, according to The State House News Service, was Kathleen Joyce, director of government relations for the Boston Bar Association was talking on her phone on Beacon Street when the thief ran by and grabbed it.
Senator Mike Rush of West Roxbury was driving down Beacon Street, not far from the state house, headed to dinner with friends, when he witnessed the crime.
Rush steered his pickup truck and started chasing the crook.
He and his passenger managed to corner the crook in an alley by the Granary Burial Ground. The guy hopped the fence before either person could grab him, but he dropped the phone in the process.
Joyce got her phone back. She was not hurt.
The thief did get away.
