MILTON (CBS) – A deadly accident claimed the life of an elderly woman in Milton on Friday.

Police say 78-year-old Mary Harris was walking across Highland Street when she was hit by a car.

She was apparently coming from the Beth Israel Hospital after visiting her son.

Investigators believe she became disoriented, and stopped in the middle of the road.

The driver did stop, and at this point is not expected to be charged.

Police are still investigating.
