BOSTON (CBS) – Boston and Transit police are increasing patrols along the Red Line after reports of several robberies near stations in Dorchester.
Investigators say women have been targeted walking home from the JFK-UMass, Savin Hill, Shawmut and Ashmont stations between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
“In some of the incidents, the suspect, described as a black male with a thin build, age 20-30, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and showed a handgun. The male suspect has engaged victims in a brief conversation before demanding money,’ Boston Police said in a statement.
Coincidentally, the MBTA just announced it’s adding more security cameras to its stations including 52 at the JFK-UMass stop.
