Concrete fell from the columns on the Congress Street garage. (CBS)
BOSTON (CBS) – The sidewalk around the parking garage at Government Center was roped off Wednesday night after concrete fell off the garage and onto the sidewalk.
The building inspector walked through the Congress Street garage with Boston Inspectional Services and say there are no structural problems with the garage.
They say water runs down the columns inside the garage, rotting the concrete.
Officials say there are a “couple of dozen” spots where this has happened to the garage.
No one was hurt when the concrete fell.
The garage’s management company says they will have a contractor working to make the repairs before Thursday morning.
