BOSTON (CBS) -MBTA Transit Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for defacing MBTA property in multiple communities.

Spencer Wright, 21, of Somerville,has been charged with multiple counts of felony defacing of property and multiple counts of felony vandalism.
Police say he “tagged” areas in Brookline, Cambridge, Newton, Somerville and Boston.
Police caught Spencer as part of a task force against graffiti.
The MBTA says each year, vandalism to its property costs an estimated $1 million.
“The Transit Police dedicate resources for identifying, prosecuting and in some instances obtaining court ordered restitution from individuals responsible for such behavior against the MBTA,” the MBTA said in a release.
Wright will have to appear in Boston Municipal Court, Brookline, Cambridge, Newton and Somerville courts in the near future, the MBTA said.
