BOSTON (CBS) – The Patriots’ offensive line may get a boost this weekend in Miami, though it’s not as if it really needed one.
Both tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back/knee) and guard Dan Connolly (back) returned to practice for New England on Thursday, as the Patriots get ready for a Sunday matchup with the Dolphins.
Both players missed practice on Wednesday, as well as last Thursday’s 49-19 trouncing of the Jets. The Patriots’ offensive line did not miss a beat though, keeping the Jets from getting to quarterback Tom Brady.
Four players missed practice on Thursday: tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm/hip), guard Logan Mankins (ankle/calf), defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle) and tackle Markus Zusevics.
Fourteen players were listed as having limited participation, including Connolly, Vollmer, Julian Edelman (concussion), Aaron Hernandez (ankle), Wes Welker (ankle), Brandon Lloyd (knee) and Patrick Chung (shoulder/hamstring).
For the Dolphins, Anthony Fasano and two other players were listed as having limited participation.
