Police: Woman Taken At Knifepoint, Sexually Assaulted In Attleboro

ATTLEBORO (CBS) – Attleboro Police say an 18-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man with a knife Tuesday afternoon.

The victim tells police that the man confronted her in an alley near the Municipal Parking Garage and he forced her at knifepoint to drive to a business on Starkey Ave.

The woman says she sexually assaulted while in the parking lot of that business. She was able to flee and ran toward Pleasant Street where she was assisted by passersby.

Her car was found along the Commuter Rail tracks behind the business.

An extensive search involving a State Police helicopter was conducted. Police are looking for a white man in his early 20's, approximately 5'8" to 5'9" tall, and clean shaven. He was reported to be wearing a gray or black hooded sweatshirt.

The woman was treated and released from the hospital.
