Heidi Watney Joining MLB Network

BOSTON (CBS) - Heidi Watney is returning to a TV set near you.

Watney is set to join MLB Network, the station announced on Monday.

The former NESN field reporter is joining their roster of on-air talent, set to make her debut in January, 2013. Watney will fill a slew of roles for MLB Network, ranging from studio host to reporter.

"I'm extremely excited to return to baseball by joining MLB Network's on-air talent lineup. Baseball is a true passion of mine and I'm looking forward to covering all 30 MLB clubs 365 days a year," Watney said in a release.

Watney became a fan favorite in the Boston area for her work at NESN from 2008-2011. The California native most recently worked for the Los Angeles Galaxy for Time Warner Cable SportsNet in L.A. before making the move back to the diamond.
