BOSTON (CBS) – The Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins are on the verge of a blockbuster deal according to FOXSports.com.
According to the report, the Blue Jays are set to acquire starting pitchers Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle, shortstop Jose Reyes, infielder/outfielder Emilio Bonifacio and catcher John Buck from the Marlins.
The Marlins would receive shortstops Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, major-league pitcher Henderson Alvarez, minor-league pitcher Justin Nicolino and center fielder Jacob Marisnick.
John Farrell left the Blue Jays last month to become the manager of the Red Sox.
