Woman Sexually Assaulted In Her Beacon Hill Apartment

BOSTON (CBS) - Police are looking for a man who allegedly broke into a woman's Boston apartment before sexually assaulting her early Saturday morning.

At 3:15 a.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call from an apartment near Joy and Myrtle Streets.

The victim claimed a man forced his way into her apartment with a weapon, robbed her, and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is being described as a black male with braided hair, about 5-foot-8, and in his late twenties or early thirties.

According to police, he was wearing a "dew rag type hat," a tan colored construction jacket, dark jeans, and dark sneakers.

He was carrying a large blue backpack.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Joy & Myrtle Streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. to contact the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400.
