Norfolk Inmate Who Walked Away From Work Detail Arrested In Holyoke

NORFOLK (CBS) – An inmate who walked away from a work detail in Norfolk Friday afternoon has been arrested in Holyoke.

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office says 45-year-old Juan Lugo was serving time at Pondville Minimum Pre-release in Norfolk.

His last address was in Holyoke. He was arrested without incident at 5:45pm.

Lugo was on a work facility crew at the Bay State Correctional facility in Norfolk Friday afternoon when he disappeared. A reverse 911 call went out to residents in surrounding towns alerting them to the situation.

Walpole schools took precautions immediately following the incident.

Lugo is serving 12 to 14 years for armed burglary and was up for parole in 2015.
