Terry Not Happy With 'Bad Performance' Against Heat
BOSTON (CBS) - After a summer of excitement for Jason Terry, his first game as a member of the Boston Celtics was anything but.
"The Jet" scored just eight points off the Boston bench in their 120-107 loss to the Heat on Tuesday night. He shot just 2-for-7 from the floor and missed all three of his three-point attempts. He dished out just one assist while turning the ball over three times, and was whistled for a trio of fouls in his 25 minutes on the floor.
"Oh, it was a bad performance for me," Terry admitted after the game.
But it wasn't his offense Terry was upset about. On defense, he was mostly tasked with guarding Ray Allen -- who went off for 19 points off the bench against his former team.

"Just defensively, not being able to be assertive and getting my hands on a lot more balls," Terry said, explaining his defensive frustrations. "I'm always looking to make an impact on both ends of the floor, but defensively tonight, I didn't have my best game."
In all, it wasn't a very flashy 25 minutes for the Boston newcomer. His new head coach was a little disappointed, but confident Terry would bounce back.
"Not a great game, but he's got 81 more," head coach Doc Rivers said. "He'll make up for it."

The confident Terry won't let one game get him down, however disappointing it was. He still showed flashes of what he can give to the Celtics, scoring all eight of his points in the second quarter in a number of different ways. He created his own shot on a nice mid-range jumper, attacked the basket for a three-point play, and hit all four of his free throws.
And with a TD Garden crowd to feed off come Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, he should have plenty of "jet fuel" for his home debut.
