WALTHAM (CBS) – The powerful winds from Hurricane Sandy tore part of the roof off a condominium complex in Waltham, leaving 25 families displaced.
Emergency crews responded to the scene at Glen Meadow Condominiums just after 6 p.m. Monday. Waltham’s building inspector came by and declared the buildings unsafe.
“It was a loud thumping sound as something was blown away and we could immediately see chunks of wood falling all over the building,” said one resident.
There is no estimate as to the extent of the damage.
