Employer IDs Man Killed In Downtown Boston Saturday

BOSTON (CBS) - A Newbury Street real estate firm has identified a man found dead in the Financial District early Saturday morning as an employee, Steve DiRoberto.

In a statement on their Website Monday morning, Boston Luxe Real Estate said their family lost one of its brightest, and called DiRoberto's death "senseless."

"To say that Steve was integral to our family would be an understatement. We had planned to promote Steve within the company at the beginning of the year. Steve had already built one real estate business from scratch in his hometown. He was going to be limited only by the amount of time he wanted to devote to being successful in this world," Boston Luxe said in the statement.

Police have not confirmed that DiRoberto was the victim say they found unconscious in the area of Franklin and Broad streets Saturday around 2:15 a.m.

They did say the victim appeared to be suffering from a head injury, and later died at Mass General Hospital.

Investigators are not sure how he died, though they suspect foul play.

"He was friends with everyone and there is a giant hole in so, so many hearts today. His absence is apparent amongst his family, his friends, and even his acquaintances," DiRoberto's bosses added in the statement.

"Every person I have spoken too sounds hollow; it is unquestionable, in our mind, that Steve is one of those rare individuals whose impact on the world was all encompassing. To lose that force, to have it snuffed out so young, is a tragedy that can't be expressed in words. There are few individuals that make the world a better place every day just by the nature of their very existence. The pain of losing such an amazing and gifted person person like (DiRoberto) is simply indescribable. Our remorse will be endless."
