Exeter, NH Police Seize $2,500 Of Synthetic Marijuana

EXETER, NH (CBS) – Exeter, New Hampshire police say they have seized about $2,500 worth of items they believe to be Synthetic Marijuana from a local convenience store.

Officers recently were able to purchase some of the product over the counter at Convenient Grocer.

They had it tested at the NH State Police Forensics Laboratory. It came back positive for a chemical called AM-2201, which has been recently added to the list of synthetic cannibinoids banned in New Hampshire.

On Thursday, officers raided the store and seized 62 packages and jars, which were labeled "Aloha," "Skunk" and "Peak Extreme."

Police say they have not yet tested the "Skunk" and "Peak Extreme" jars for drugs.

Police say sales records show that the store was purchasing the synthetic drug for $2.75 for a 1 gram jar and selling it for $12.99.

Investigators have not filed any charges at this point, but say they have not ruled out the possibility of doing so.
