Wednesday's Child: 16-Year-Old Jorge

BOSTON (CBS) - Jorge who goes by "George" is an inquisitive, intelligent 16-year-old boy of Latino descent. Jorge is a goal-oriented teen who has his sights on possibly becoming a chemist in the future. He loves going to the beach and is hoping to find a permanent, adoptive family who will share this pastime.

Jorge is a lot of fun to be with. He is talkative, engaging and enjoys a myriad of activities, such as Sudoku, puzzles, board and computer games, horseback riding, cooking, managing his finances, gardening and caring for pets. At his residential program, he is considered an excellent athlete, a very hard worker, and a responsible young man. Jorge is a sophomore in high school and is already looking at colleges. He is an honor roll student and gets along well with his peers and teachers alike.

Legally free for adoption, Jorge would benefit from a home where he is the only child and can get a lot of attention. Though he relates better to men than to women, he would still like an active mom and dad who enjoy sports. Jorge will need support in working through issues of his past and maintaining a connection to his siblings.

To learn more about Jorge, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org.The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
