ANDOVER (CBS) – He’s a native of India who goes by the name of “Eswar,” but some call him Jack, like Jack and the Beanstalk, because of the what he grows in his backyard.
Eswar has grown a beanstalk that now measures 27 feet tall. He put up a 20 foot poll at one point, to keep the stalk growing straight. Now, the beanstalk has surpassed the poll and is falling away from it but is still growing.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Doug Cope reports
Eswar also grows Indian string beans, gourds, and even peanuts. The secret? He told WBZ NewsRadio’s Doug Cope that he uses natural compost, rainwater collected off his roof, and just a love of doing it.
