BARNSTABLE (CBS) – A 13-year-old boy from Cape Cod got more than he bargained for when he tried to take pictures of his neighbor’s daughter. “He hid a video camera on the air conditioner, outside her bedroom window,” said Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney.

The girl’s father found the camera, and called police. Detective John York set up his own camera to catch the peeping Tom. He got an image, but not good enough. It only showed a small person running through the yard.

So Detective York took the video camera that was left on the air conditioner and examined it. “It contained pictures of the boy’s entire family,” says Sgt. Sweeney. “So York found the family, and the boy fessed up.”

Police did not charge the youngster. They said his parents were sufficiently angry that they let them take care of it in house.
