QUINCY (CBS) – The city of Quincy says a mural blending the likeness of President Barack Obama with Jimi Hendrix must go.

A resident complained about the mural, painted on the side of the President’s Rock Club on Hancock Street and city says it does violate the rules.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports

“I do like it, it beats looking at the alley,” a passerby told WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomney.

“Otherwise, it was just an eye sore.”

“It’s a permitting issue,” Inspectional Services Director Jay Duca said. “Any sign in the city of Quincy requires a building permit.”

The owner has been asked to remove it and faces a $300 a day fine if he doesn’t.
