Stoughton Teen Shot, Killed By Brother In Apparent Accident
STOUGHTON (CBS) - A 17-year-old from Stoughton was shot and killed by his brother Saturday evening in what appears to be an accident.
David Wade was shot in the chest by his 21-year-old brother at the Wades' home. Wade was rushed to Good Samaritan hospital but could not be revived.
Several members of the Wade family were home at the time, and both David's mother and the brother who allegedly shot him called 911.
Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said the shooting is currently being considered an accident, but they are considering all possibilities.
"There are obviously a number of alternatives we need to look at. We have no ruled anything out at this time," Morrissey said.
The brother does have a gun license that was recently acquired.
No arrests have been made at this time.
St. James Parish has opened its doors to anyone in need of counseling.
Counselors will be available at Stoughton High School throughout the week. According to Stoughton High School Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi, staff members are working with the students who may be most effected.
Rizzi said the crisis team met Saturday and plans are in place to address the needs of both students and staff throughout the week and beyond.
