Lowell Police Searching For Driver In Fatal Hit & Run

LOWELL (CBS) – Police are looking for the driver who ran down and killed a 50-year-old man in Lowell early Sunday morning.

The victim, identified by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office as Fabian Bolanos, was hit at about 1:15 a.m. on West 6th Street as he was about to enter his car.

"I heard a bang," witness Louis Gagne said. "It was very loud. I ran over and asked the guy if he was okay and there was no response so I ran to get help."

Bolanos was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still searching for the car, which they described as an older model gold Buick that should have front end damage, including a broken headlight.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lowell Police.
