BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots officially announced the signing of tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. and re-signing of wide receiver Deion Branch on Tuesday.
The team also announced they have re-signed linebacker Niko Koutouvides, hoping to bulk up their special teams unit that struggled mightily in Sunday’s 20-18 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Koutouvides, who was released following the preseason, was a key member of all of New England’s special teams units last season, playing in the final 11 regular season games and all three postseason games in 2011. Hen should add another strong presence on a special teams squad that up a blocked punt to the Cardinals on Sunday.
