MARSHFIELD (CBS) – With Hurricane Leslie passing off the Massachusetts coast, many shore towns are warning residents about the dangers of rough surf and rip tides.
In Marshfield, Harbormaster Bob Coakley has been tracking the weather and is concerned for beach-goers this weekend.

“If the surface current is pulling them out, they shouldn’t try to fight it. What they should do is go with it, make sure they get themselves relaxed, then try to go to one side or the other to try and get away from this current,” Coakley said.
In addition to rip tides, the surf is projected to be as high as 10 feet at the coast.
