12-Year-Old Steers Car, Family To Safety After Father Has Seizure

PEABODY (CBS) - A 12-year-old boy took the wheel and operated his family's car to safety after his father had a seizure behind the wheel on Saturday.

State Police in Danvers received a call from the boy after he had taken the wheel and guided the car safely into the breakdown lane.

Unsure of his location, the boy gave police landmarks, leaving them to search all local highways. The family was eventually found on Route 95 South, with the boy and his special needs sister standing safely behind the guard rail.

The boy's father was taken to Lahey North and is reportedly in good condition.
