The three-alarm fire at the Perry Hill Farm started around 8:30 a.m.
It destroyed a 10,000 square foot barn that was home to 22 horses.
Only eight of them survived. Several goats and a pig also escaped safely.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Bernice Corpuz reports
No people were hurt.
There’s no word yet on how the fire started.
It took ten different fire departments to put it out. The farm is in such a rural area that water had to be trucked in to the scene.
According to its website, Perry Hill farm is a “full service Equestrian Academy dedicated to teaching children and adults of all ages.”
They offer horseback riding lessons and pony rides for several occasions.
