Gresh & Zo: Some Sox Players Skip Pesky's Funeral

David Ortiz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Clay Buchholz and Vicente Padilla were the only four Sox players on the current roster to show up to legend Johnny Pesky's funeral on Monday, according to the Boston Herald's Inside Track.

Gresh and Zo discussed and are on vastly different sides of this whole thing.

Gresh looked at the whole 40 man roster and said as Pesky got up in years and spent less time with the teams a lot of these guys didn't have the chance to develop a relationship with the legend.

"I'm a person who believes in telling someone what I think of them while they're here and if I were a member of the Red Sox I would have let Johnny Pesky know that I love him before he dies because to me that's more important. I understand there is a respect factor, but look I'm not big on going to wakes and I'm not big on going to funerals."

Zo doesn't try to compare himself to Gresh, but believes that you owe it to that person if they touched your life in some way to go and pay your respects.

What do you think? Were the player out of line by not showing up? Is this just par for the course for how this season has gone?
