Patrick To Speak At Democratic National Convention

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will be among the speakers at next month's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Patrick is scheduled to address the delegates on Tuesday night, Sept. 4. The convention runs from Sept. 3 to 6.

Patrick in a statement described November's presidential election as "truly the election of a lifetime."

He says he's looking forward to participating in the Convention "because more than anything else, what is at stake right now is the American Dream."

The Democratic National Convention Committee also announced Monday that Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry had been added to the list of speakers.

It had been previously announced that Harvard Law School professor Elizabeth Warren, who's challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, would have a speaking role at the convention.
