Fair Organizers Take Precautions Against Mosquitoes
MARSHFIELD (CBS) - There's a major event going on in a part of the state where mosquito concerns are more ramped up than ever. Organizers of the Marshfield Fair say they're doing everything they can to make sure the area's safe, but they're concerned about the swamp forest that surrounds the fairgrounds.
"We're making an effort to keep our eye on it," explains Fair President Lenny LaForest. He says his crews use heavy duty outdoor pest spray around the grounds every morning and night.
He's also putting out a plea to Plymouth County Mosquito Control officials for aerial spraying, "especially around the wooded perimeter around the fairgrounds," he says.
The fair goes on every night through Saturday, August 26th.
