LAWRENCE (CBS) – An 11-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet in Lawrence early Friday morning.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports
Witnesses say about nine shots were fired from an alley outside her home at 33 Brook Street at about 4 a.m.
The girl was awake in her bedroom trying to get her infant brother to go to sleep when her collarbone was grazed.
She was treated at a hospital and released.
There have been no arrests.
“It’s just so senseless and stupid,” Police Chief John Romero told WBZ-TV.
“You spray a house and you don’t know where those bullets are going to go and in this case here, struck a young child.”
Romero said the shooter may have had an issue with people on the second floor after a run-in earlier in the night.
At least four bullet holes were visible in the side of the lower floors of the triple decker.
