State Police Find 530 Bags Of Heroin During Traffic Stop

BOSTON (CBS) - Two men are facing drug trafficking charges after State Police say they found 530 bags of heroin in the suspects' car.

Troopers were following the car on Route 195 eastbound Saturday night after seeing the car going 90 mph in a 55 mph zone, following too closely, and recklessly changing lanes.

Officers pulled over the car and made the discovery. Keith M. Boucher, 36, of Wareham, and Jonathan B. Rose, 20, of Monument Beach (Bourne) were arrested. Rose, the driver, was also charged with reckless driving.

The arrests came as part of a "Patrol Surge" campaign by State Police, which is intended to crack down on dangerous driving on Routes 24 and 195.

This past weekend, State Police also arrested eight people for drunk driving, issued seven criminal summons, and wrote 272 motor vehicle citations as part of the campaign.
