BOSTON (CBS) – NORAD says it intercepted two small planes that violated restricted air space over Long Island and New Haven, Connecticut Monday night.
It is believed Air Force One was flying in the area with President Obama on board at the time.
Two F-15 fighters intercepted the first aircraft over Long Island at approximately 7:00pm. The fighters followed it until it landed without incident where the plane was met by local law enforcement.
The second aircraft was intercepted at approximately 7:30pm near New Haven. It was eventually allowed to continue to its destination.
The president went to Connecticut Monday night for two fundraisers.
