Black Bear Spotted In Barre
BARRE (CBS) – A bear was spotted wandering around in Barre on Wednesday.
The 300-pound bear walked up to a house on Worcester Road near the Oakham line.
A resident snapped the photo and sent it along to police.
Barre Police Chief Erik Demetropoulos says he believes the bear has been tagged.
The chief says he reminded the person who took the photo and other residents not to get too close to a bear.
Police noted that there were no bird feeders in the yard.
This is the second bear seen in Barre, apparently there is another one on the north side of town.
