Report: Beckett Not Getting Traded On Deadline Day
BOSTON (CBS) - After all the rumors and phone calls -- whether they were initiated by the Red Sox or not -- Josh Beckett will remain in Boston after Tuesday's 4 p.m. MLB Trade Deadline, an MLB source told ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes.
On Monday, rumors were flying that the Red Sox were shopping Beckett, only to have the team shoot them down to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo. Teams including the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves had talks about acquiring Beckett, but it does not appear as though any of the chatter will result in a deal for the 32-year-old starter.
