BRIGHTON (CBS) – A woman is dead and a man is being questioned by police after a fire in an senior housing apartment building in Brighton.

According to the Boston Fire Department, firefighters responded to 2-4 Fidelis Way just before 9 a.m. for a kitchen fire on the 4th floor of the building.

While firefighters arrived, a man went after them with a weapon. They managed to subdue him. While crews were putting out the flames, that man went back into the apartment and tried to jump out of the window.

At that point, he was placed into police custody.

Officials have not identified the victim or given any details about how she died or the cause of the fire.
